Connect using a stand-alone chat client

You can enter the IRC Chat using your regular IRC client, like mIRC.

• Host: irc.thesimsresource.com
• Channel: #sims

Connect using our Java web client

Auto-join channel: #sims #helpdesk Do not auto-join    Window Size: 600800 x 400600

Nickname:

Note: If you don't auto-join you can enter a channel by clicking the "Channel" button in the chat window that will pop-up, and then double-click the channel you want to join.

Connect using our ActiveX web client (Windows only)

Auto-join channel: #sims #helpdesk Do not auto-join

Nickname:

Note: When connected you should type /join #sims to join the main chatroom. Once in there you can ask around for the name of the other available chatrooms people are using.

Mozilla users: Please note that this chat client is not supported by Mozilla or Firefox, Internet Explorer is required

Connect using Trillian Instant Messenger

You can even enter the IRC Chat using the popular Trillian Instant Messenger program.

In "Connection Manager" click the first dropdown (Chat Medium) and choose IRC.

Under "Select a server to use when connecting to IRC" use these settings:

• Servername: irc.thesimsresource.com
• Port: 6667
• Nickname: Your TSR Member Name
• Alternate: Alternate name in case yours is in use

Click Connect. If your IRC window does not open automatically, click the Grey Circle at the bottom of the Trillian Panel and choose Toggle Status Window

In the Status Window type /join #sims

You can put this command into your perform options for next time. Refer to the Trillian Help for more details on the use of IRC in Trillian. You will also be able to use all commands as explained on the mIRC Help Page.
